The first layer of the work was filmed using a uniquely vintage [analog] VHS palmcorder I found lying around a second hand shop in the Nachlaot neighborhood of Jerusalem.
I quickly learned its language, and together we spoke the unspoken words visible only to
the eye.
The vhs material is broken into two segments:
a] Balfour - tamed
b] Lockdown - free
The documentation of these events occurred during the covid pandemic [‘20 | ‘21] in my attempt to analyze society through
indirect criticism.
After collecting and converting the analog [video] material, I placed it on the editing table and began to dissect, extracting and archiving a series of unique frames that we know to
be, “glitches”.
But what is a glitch, and how does the camera interpret and/or capture time, then print it for us in a visual form?
